For men bothered by the appearance of their chest, Dr. Rockmore offers gynecomastia surgery to restore a flatter, more confident contour.
Getting Back to Normal Activities
Most patients experience swelling, bruising, and some tightness in the chest for the first one to two weeks after surgery, and a compression vest is typically worn continuously to support healing and help the skin adapt to its new contour as swelling gradually decreases over the following weeks.
Most patients return to work within a week and can resume light exercise after about two weeks, with more strenuous activity, particularly anything involving the chest and arms, typically cleared around four to six weeks once healing has progressed enough to safely resume.
