What Is BOTOX?

BOTOX is a trademarked name, but it is often used to describe a group of FDA- approved products that treat dynamic wrinkles. In addition to BOTOX, other products are Dysport®, XEOMIN®.

There are many jokes and fears about BOTOX creating a frozen face. However, this result can be avoided by choosing a well-trained physician. While it is more common for an aesthetician to provide treatments, Dr. Rockmore personally performs all of his own BOTOX injections. He carefully plans each treatment and ensures the BOTOX is precisely placed to create an improved but natural look, while minimizing discomfort and bruising. Your face will move naturally, but the troublesome creases will no longer be there.

What Does BOTOX Treat?

BOTOX treats dynamic rhytides, which is a medical term for wrinkles caused by active contraction of certain facial muscles. Common areas treated with BOTOX include crow’s feet at the outer corner of the eyes, vertical lines between eyebrows, and horizontal forehead lines. Wrinkles of the nose, vertical neck bands, and smoker’s lines of the upper lip can also be treated with BOTOX.

Fillers + Injectables

There are wide varieties of injections, fillers, volumizers, and injectables available. Each style, trademark, and brand family offer different solutions for a range of treatments. In your consultation with Dr. Rockmore, you will discuss all of the available options for your specific concerns, and develop a personalized plan to achieve your goal.

Different from the other injectable treatments Dr. Rockmore offers, KYBELLA doesn't add volume or reduce wrinkles. It targets ``submental fat,`` also known as a double chin. The chemical in KYBELLA, deoxycholic acid, naturally processes dietary fat. When it's injected below the chin, it kills the fat cells, and they are permanently removed.

This hyaluronic acid gel filler lasts for 9 to 12 months. Hyaluronic acids are naturally occurring substances in our skin that keep it hydrated and firm, so JUVÉDERM creates soft and natural-looking improvements.

This is another hyaluronic acid product that adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct wrinkles and folds, Restylane may also be used for lip enhancements and has a similar longevity to JUVÉDERM.

This product uses calcium microspheres suspended in a gel to fill beneath the skin. It's also the first and only FDA-approved filler to correct volume loss in the back of the hands, adding volume and lessening the visibility of veins and tendons. It can be used for smile lines, nasal enhancements, and jawline redefinition. Improvements last 9 to 12 months.

This filler that contains hyaluronic acid is placed more superficially than other fillers. It is primarily used to treat dark circles under the eyes. Filling this area will reduce or remove the shadowing effect that is often responsible for these circles.

Volumizer Treatment Areas

What Are Dermal Fillers?

As the face ages, tissue shifts downward and volume is lost in the cheeks and upper face. The shape of the face changes as it flattens from the cheekbones to the apples of the cheeks. Dermal fillers are used to restore volume to the upper face and cheeks, which provides a lifting effect that is significant and natural-looking.

Volumizer Options

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC / Restylane Lyft : This hyaluronic acid product is used to restore fullness of the cheekbones in patients who are at least age 21. It lasts up to 2 years and creates an immediate improvement in your cheek and cheekbone contour. The curvature of a youthful cheek, called the ogee curve, is recreated, resulting in a youthful look.

Sculptra® Aesthetic: This is a poly-L-lactic acid product that stimulates your body to make tissue in the injected area for volume restoration. The day after injection, there is minimal change, but over the next 6 weeks, your body gradually produces volume in the treated areas. Sculptra lasts up to 4 years and is often used to improve the contour of the cheeks and temples. It can be used as a volumizer and can restore the volume of sunken cheeks. Most patients need 2 to 3 treatments for best results. In addition to using Sculptra for facial rejuvenation, Dr. Rockmore also offers a nonsurgical Brazillian Butt Lifts using Sculptra.
